My photo essay on Beetlebung Farm for Martha Stewart Living hit the newsstands this week. I’m really proud of this essay and I love what they did with the layout.
This is proof for me and anyone else who is reading, that you should just shoot what you love. A few summers ago, I began hanging around my friend Chris Fischer who happens to be a chef and farmer on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. What started as a curiosity, turned into a deep friendship, a fun personal photo project and my first assignment for Martha Stewart. An editor at the magazine had come across some of the photos online and basically hired me that same day. I was sent to an Apple Orchard up in Maine. (That story will run in the September issue.) It was only months later, that I went in to the office in person and brought along a box of prints of the Beetlebung images that the idea for this current story came about.
None of this would have been possible without Chris, so I’d like to thank him for letting me into his world.
