I got the perfect assignment from Travel & Leisure at the end of last summer to shoot a travel piece about my beloved Martha’s Vineyard. It’s finally out so I’m happy to now be able to share it.
This was great for so many reasons; both shooting what I was comfortable and familiar with and also getting to explore areas of the island I had never been to. Did you know there’s an Alpaca farm on the island? That’s what I love about being a working photographer, the journeys that it will take you on, even if it’s your own home turf!
Stay tuned for more images from the shoot.
Field View, 2013
Field View is the cabin where my friends Chris and Emma will be living this summer on Beetlebung Farm. That’s Chris in the window. That spear on the right he made to go boar hunting. They have been prepping the place all spring which now includes an actual bed, a deck, an outhouse, an outdoor brick oven and soon to be installed, an outdoor shower.
I made the inaugural trek out to Beetlebung Farm last weekend and caught some early greenhouse action. My good friend Chris, pictured here, in addition to running the farm this summer, is also taking over the Beach Plum Restaurant as head chef. Can’t wait!
Love going through the family archives when I’m back in Brazil. Here are my grandparents during a carnival celebration in 1971.
